Formed by the Sardis Dam in 1940, it’s a hotspot for anglers, especially those targeting crappie, catfish, and bass. The John W. Kyle State Park borders the lake, providing options for camping, hiking, birdwatching, and picnicking.

2. Ross Barnett Reservoir

Ross Barnett Reservoir

Located in central Mississippi, the Ross Barnett Reservoir spans 33,000 acres and is a favourite for fishing and water sports. Managed by the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, it features multiple marinas, boat ramps, trails, and camping areas. Bass, catfish, and crappie fishing are top attractions here.
